When is ATD24 and where will it take place?

ATD24 will take place May 19-22, 2024 at the Ernest Morial Convention Center located at 900 Convention Center Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70130.

Who attends ATD’s annual conference?

More than 10,000 professionals from 80+ countries rely on ATD’s annual conference to learn about trends and best practices, discover new tools and solutions at the largest EXPO for training and development practitioners, and share ideas with peers who are committed to helping create a world that works better. 

How can I attend ATD24? 

There are two ways you can participate in ATD24: 

In-person at ATD24 New Orleans: Join us in person for a face-to-face event. This event will deliver access to more than 250 live sessions, an active EXPO floor, and networking opportunities. When you join us, you will also get access to the ATD24@Home virtual conference experience and on-demand content.  

ATD24 Virtual Conference: Join a global audience for live-stream sessions from New Orleans, virtual-only content, exclusive speaker Q&As, and more. ATD24 Virtual is ideal for anyone with limited funding or an inability to travel.

Is CE Credit available for participating in the conference (ATD CI, HRCI, SHRM, etc.)? 

ATD24 participants are eligible for CE hours with the ATD Certification Institute, HRCI, and SHRM. Attendees must complete an evaluation for each session attended in New Orleans, May 19–22, and sessions watched on-demand through the virtual platform between May 16–August 23, 2024, to receive credit for the session on the ATD24 CE transcript. You will complete your session surveys in the mobile app (more details to come in early May). By May 29, you will receive an email with a link to the session evaluation website to download and/or print the ATD24 CE transcript and certificate of attendance for use in self-report earned continuing education credits (CEs) for certification or re-certification with each credentialing body.

Is there a mobile app? 

Yes, ATD24 has a comprehensive mobile application to help you navigate the onsite experience. It will be available in early May. 

Can I bring a guest to any of the events?

All attendees must have a badge to attend ATD24 events. We do permit guest attendance at Networking Night. A ticket may be purchased during registration or on-site at the conference. Tickets are limited, and we do recommend purchasing in advance.  

Due to the professional nature of the conference and EXPO, children under 18 years of age are not permitted to attend. All attendees must wear their conference badge at all times.

I’m traveling from another country. Are there opportunities to connect with people from my country? 

Yes, the ATD International Conference is typically attended by people from over 80 countries. We offer unique opportunities for our global audience to connect through various networking events and in our Global Village. You can also consider joining or organizing an international delegation to enhance your experience further.  

Registration & Cancellation Information 

What’s included with my in-person registration? 

Your registration includes access to all keynotes and concurrent sessions, lunch Monday through Wednesday in the EXPO, access to the EXPO, shuttle transportation between many hotels and the convention center, and unique networking opportunities throughout the conference.  

Can I get a Day Pass? 

Yes! Day passes are available Sunday–Wednesday and can be purchased through the standard registration process.  

Can I visit the EXPO only? 

Yes! Daily EXPO-only passes are available Monday–Wednesday and can be purchased through the standard registration process.  

Do you offer discounted rates for students and government employees?

Yes! Discounted rates for both groups are available through our standard registration process. 

Do you offer discounts for groups?  

Yes! Attending ATD24 as a team is one of the best investments you can make. Not only do we offer discounted rates for teams of 5 or more, but we also offer a dedicated conference team lounge and unique networking experiences with refreshments.

Why are there VIP add-ons?  

ATD24 will deliver a really great experience for you. However, we recognize there are some aspects of events that are less convenient than others. So, similar to a VIP concert experience, our VIP add-ons are designed to enhance your experience and provide some additional comfort and convenience for you.   

By adding on the VIP experience at ATD24 in New Orleans, you'll lock in some certainty—like guaranteeing your seat in the general session room, a ticket to Networking Night, and special access to a VIP Lounge with dedicated networking events.   VIP

Are meals included? What if I have dietary restrictions?  

ATD will provide lunch Monday–Wednesday at the EXPO. For 2024, we are working to provide a variety of meal options to match dietary needs. If you have specific restrictions or need special meal accommodations, please fill out this survey so we can plan accordingly. If you have already filled out this survey upon registering, there is no need to fill it out again. A team member will be in touch closer to the conference to discuss options.  

Can I get a Certificate of Attendance?

Why is the volunteer program going away in 2024?

As the conference has grown and its needs have changed, more responsibility has fallen on the volunteers, which at times has led to some unanticipated challenges. Additionally, in recent years we’ve experienced a higher number of volunteer cancellations than ever before, which in some cases placed more of a burden on volunteers who were able to fulfill their volunteer commitment each day. ATD will be supporting the needs of the conference in other ways moving forward.

What criteria do I need to meet to qualify for a reduced rate in New Orleans under the volunteer program?

To potentially qualify for a reduced rate, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Have volunteered as part of the formal program at ATD’s International Conference & Exposition in the last three years (ATD21, ATD22, or ATD23)
  2. Confirm you were planning to volunteer in New Orleans
  3. Confirm that your employer will not cover any of your conference registration fees and that without access to a reduced registration rate, you would be unable to attend ATD24

Are there any other ways to volunteer at ATD24?

If you are an APTD or CPTD certificant, the Certification Institute has a variety of volunteer opportunities at ATD24. Sign-ups for volunteer activities are distributed in early April to all those registered for ATD24 who are currently certified.

Hotel & Travel 

Are there reduced rates for hotel rooms in New Orleans? 

ATD has negotiated reduced rates and special benefits for ATD24 attendees with many New Orleans hotel properties. Rooms will range in price from as low as $229 per night.

I was contacted by a company about booking a hotel room. Is this legitimate?

ATD uses MCI USA Housing for our hotel reservations. MCI USA Housing does not cold call, so if you receive a phone call, we guarantee it is not an authorized vendor acting on behalf of the conference.  

Does ATD24 provide any travel discounts?

ATD has partnered with several airlines and car rental companies to offer reduced airline ticket and car rental rates. You can find more information on the Hotel and Travel page. 

Will there be shuttles services to and from the convention center?

Yes, a complimentary shuttle service is provided between the New Orleans Convention Center and the official ATD hotels. View and download the flyer for more details on the shuttle service and a list of participating ATD hotels.

Accessibility Information 

What services are available for individuals with special needs and requests? 

ATD events are accessible to all participants. If you have questions or require special accommodations or auxiliary aid related to a disability for you to participate in the Conference, please fill out this survey at least three weeks in advance (by April 28, 2024)  so we have ample time to make accommodations. A team member will be in touch, and we will make every effort to work with you to accommodate your need.

Can I rent a scooter or wheelchair for the conference? 

Scooter/wheelchair rental will be available for ATD24. View the flyer to make arrangements.

ATD24 Virtual 

What programming will be included in the ATD24 Virtual program?   

The ATD24 Virtual program includes:   

  • live-streamed general and super sessions 
  • education sessions delivered virtually especially for our at-home audience
  • access to 100+ concurrent sessions recorded in New Orleans  
  • on-demand educational sessions 
  • content from ATD services and sponsors 
  • real-time networking 
  • speaker Q&A 
  • digital conference materials 
  • virtual entertainment 

What are the technical requirements?  

We will be utilizing a third-party platform for the conference and will share specific details as soon as possible. We strive to ensure compatibility for as many people as possible across desktop and mobile devices. Many of the platforms utilize Vimeo or YouTube for stream feeds and Zoom or similar technology for face-to-face components such as networking or workshops.

Are there options for those with auditory disabilities?  

Yes, ATD strives to be as inclusive as possible. Can I network during ATD24 Virtual? 

Yes, one of the best parts about attending an ATD conference has always been the lasting relationships you build with the people with whom you meet and learn from. Once you’ve logged in, we recommend that you set-up your profile including adding your photo, bio, Twitter and LinkedIn handles, and tags. Customizing your profile will make it easier for people with similar roles and interests to connect with you.  

You can also participate in one of our many Conversation Starters or Community Conversations for some facilitated opportunities to meet and discuss key topics with your industry peers. Those sessions are noted in the agenda by time zone on the Virtual Experience page.
